The inspiration behind Efficiency Club Zurich, founded in 1936, was a lecture by Herbert N. Casson organised by the Zurich Chamber of Commerce. Casson was a fascinating personality with great integrity and entrepreneurial vision, whose bold leadership qualities were rooted in social partnership thinking. As an accomplished businessman, he was convinced that genuine success could not be achieved by focusing solely on recognition and performance, nor through showmanship or the abandonment of human values. The Efficiency Club Zurich counts leading personalities from all areas of business, politics, science and culture among its members. While it is politically neutral and non-denominational, stimulating discussions on any topic are a vital part of the club's raison d'etre.
